Si parte dalle coordinate cartesiane, con i versori di base e il vettore posizione nel piano e nello spazio; si passa alle polari, ricavando x = r cos theta e y = r sin theta e mostrando come i versori radiale e trasverso ruotino con il punto. Le cilindriche estendono le polari lungo z e si applicano ai problemi a simmetria assiale, come il filo carico; le sferiche si ottengono riconoscendo che r sin theta è il rho cilindrico, e descrivono i problemi a simmetria centrale. Ogni formula nasce dalla geometria tridimensionale che la giustifica.","metaDescription":"Coordinate cartesiane, polari, cilindriche e sferiche: formule di trasformazione, versori e simmetrie, con animazioni 3D per fisica e ingegneria.","transcript":"Per descrivere qualunque fenomeno fisico dobbiamo prima rispondere a una domanda semplice: dove si trova il punto che stiamo studiando? Esistono diversi modi di rispondere. In questa lezione ne vedremo quattro: le coordinate cartesiane, le polari nel piano, le cilindriche e le sferiche nello spazio. Ciascuno si adatta a una diversa simmetria del problema, e impareremo a passare dall'uno all'altro con formule esatte. Cominciamo dal piano. Scegliamo un'origine e due assi perpendicolari, e su ciascun asse un versore, cioè un vettore di lunghezza uno: i cappello lungo x, j cappello lungo y. Un punto P si raggiunge spostandosi di x lungo il primo asse e di y lungo il secondo. Qui x vale tre e y vale due. Il vettore posizione è quindi la combinazione dei versori: r è uguale a x per i cappello, più y per j cappello. Nello spazio teniamo i due versori del piano e aggiungiamo un terzo asse, z, perpendicolare ai primi due, con il suo versore k cappello. I tre versori sono ortogonali tra loro e formano una terna destrorsa: i vettore j è uguale a k. Per raggiungere P ci spostiamo di x, poi di y, poi di z, e la posizione diventa x per i più y per j più z per k. Questi versori hanno una proprietà preziosa: sono gli stessi in ogni punto dello spazio. Vedremo che negli altri sistemi non sarà così. Nel piano un punto si può descrivere anche in un altro modo: con la sua distanza dall'origine e con una direzione. La distanza è r, che non è mai negativa. La direzione è data dall'angolo theta, misurato a partire dall'asse x in verso antiorario. Proiettiamo P sugli assi. Il cateto orizzontale vale r coseno di theta, quello verticale r seno di theta. Al contrario, il teorema di Pitagora restituisce r come radice di x quadro più y quadro, mentre il rapporto y su x è la tangente di theta. Attenzione però: per scegliere l'angolo giusto bisogna guardare il quadrante. Ora i versori. Il versore radiale punta lontano dall'origine, lungo r. Il versore trasverso è perpendicolare a lui, nel verso in cui theta cresce. Ecco la differenza decisiva rispetto alle cartesiane. Se il punto si sposta lungo la circonferenza, i due versori ruotano con lui: dipendono da theta. Derivando questi versori rispetto al tempo nascono i termini centripeti dei moti circolari. È il prezzo, e insieme il vantaggio, di una base che si muove con il punto. Passiamo allo spazio. Le coordinate cilindriche sono le polari del piano x y, a cui aggiungiamo semplicemente la quota z. Proiettiamo il punto P sul piano x y. La distanza della proiezione dall'asse z è rho, l'angolo con l'asse x è l'azimut phi, e la quota del punto è z. Dalla proiezione leggiamo subito le formule: x è rho per coseno di phi, y è rho per seno di phi, e z resta z. Le formule inverse sono quelle delle polari. Che cosa descrive rho costante? Teniamo rho fisso e facciamo ruotare phi: il punto gira attorno all'asse. Poi facciamo variare z: il punto scorre in verticale. Insieme, i due movimenti disegnano un cilindro. In ogni punto i versori sono il radiale e rho, che punta lontano dall'asse, il trasverso e phi, tangente alla circonferenza, e il versore k dell'asse z. Questo sistema è naturale quando c'è simmetria assiale: un filo carico, un solenoide, un fluido in un tubo. Per un filo infinito, il campo elettrico dipende soltanto da rho e punta sempre lungo e rho, lontano dal filo. Infine le coordinate sferiche, pensate per problemi con un centro privilegiato. Il punto si individua con la distanza r dall'origine e con due angoli. Il primo è l'angolo polare theta, detto anche colatitudine, misurato dal semiasse z positivo. Il secondo è l'azimut phi, lo stesso angolo delle cilindriche, misurato nel piano x y a partire dall'asse x. Ora il passaggio chiave. La proiezione di r sul piano x y è lunga r seno di theta: è esattamente il rho delle cilindriche. E la quota è r coseno di theta. Basta allora sostituire nelle formule cilindriche. x diventa r seno theta coseno phi, e y diventa r seno theta seno phi. Gli intervalli completano la definizione: r non è mai negativo, theta va da zero a pi greco, phi copre un giro intero. Teniamo fisso r e facciamo variare theta: il punto scende lungo un meridiano. Variamo phi: si muove lungo un parallelo. Tutti i punti raggiungibili formano una sfera. Questo è il sistema naturale per la simmetria centrale: il campo di una carica puntiforme, la gravità di un pianeta. Il campo dipende solo da r e punta lungo il versore radiale, in ogni direzione. Riassumiamo. Le cartesiane hanno versori fissi e sono ideali per geometrie rettangolari. Le polari descrivono rotazioni nel piano, le cilindriche la simmetria assiale, le sferiche quella centrale. La regola pratica è semplice: si sceglie il sistema che rispecchia la simmetria del problema, e le formule di trasformazione permettono sempre di tornare alle cartesiane.","watch":{"version":1,"scenes":[{"title":"Coordinate cartesiane","start":0,"end":101.40920833333332,"objects":{"card":"a Title that says \"Metodi Matematici per la Fisica — Sistemi di Coordinate in Fisica: Cartesiane, Polari, Cilindriche e Sferiche\"","head_map":"a Heading that says \"Quattro modi per dire dove\"","head_plane":"a Heading that says \"Il piano cartesiano\"","head_space":"a Heading that says \"Lo spazio cartesiano\"","line":"a Line [blue] drawn in plane (end=(3.0, 0.0), dashed=True)","line_2":"a Line [blue] drawn in plane (start=(3.0, 0.0), end=(3.0, 2.0), dashed=True)","line_3":"a Line [blue] drawn in space (start=(0.0, 0.0, 0.0), end=(2.0, 0.0, 0.0), dashed=True)","line_4":"a Line [blue] drawn in space (start=(2.0, 0.0, 0.0), end=(2.0, 2.0, 0.0), dashed=True)","line_5":"a Line [blue] drawn in space (start=(2.0, 2.0, 0.0), end=(2.0, 2.0, 2.5), dashed=True)","ortho2":"a Math [text] that says \"$hat(i) perp hat(j), quad abs(hat(i)) = abs(hat(j)) = 1$\"","ortho3":"a Math [text] that says \"$hat(i) times hat(j) = hat(k)$\"","p2":"a Point [yellow] labelled \"P\" drawn in plane (location=(3.0, 2.0))","p3":"a Point [yellow] labelled \"P\" drawn in space (location=(2.0, 2.0, 2.5))","plane":"an Axes (x_range=(-0.5, 4.0), y_range=(-0.5, 3.0), x_ticks_every=1.0)","pos2":"a Math [text] that says \"$arrow(r) = x hat(i) + y hat(j)$\"","pos3":"a Math [text] that says \"$arrow(r) = x hat(i) + y hat(j) + z hat(k)$\"","r2":"a Vector [blue] labelled \"arrow(r)\" drawn in plane (end=(3.0, 2.0))","r3":"a Vector [blue] labelled \"arrow(r)\" drawn in space (start=(0.0, 0.0, 0.0), end=(2.0, 2.0, 2.5))","space":"an Axes3D (x_range=(0.0, 3.0), y_range=(0.0, 3.0), z_range=(0.0, 3.0))","systems":"a Table [text] that says \"Sistema Coordinate Cartesiane $(x, y, z)$ Polari $(r, theta)$ Cilindriche $(rho, phi, z)$ Sferiche $(r, theta, phi)$\" (rows=(('Sistema', 'Coordinate'), ('Cartesiane', '$(x, y, z)$'), ('Po…, header=True)","ui":"a Vector [red] labelled \"hat(i)\" drawn in space (start=(0.0, 0.0, 0.0), end=(1.0, 0.0, 0.0))","uj":"a Vector [green] labelled \"hat(j)\" drawn in space (start=(0.0, 0.0, 0.0), end=(0.0, 1.0, 0.0))","uk":"a Vector [magenta] labelled \"hat(k)\" drawn in space (start=(0.0, 0.0, 0.0), end=(0.0, 0.0, 1.0))","vi":"a Vector [red] labelled \"hat(i)\" drawn in plane","vj":"a Vector [green] labelled \"hat(j)\" drawn in plane (end=(0.0, 1.0))"},"beats":[{"start":0,"say":"Per descrivere qualunque fenomeno fisico dobbiamo prima rispondere a una domanda semplice: dove si trova il punto che stiamo studiando?","live":[],"does":[[0,"card is shown on the screen, written out."],[1.281353637901861,"card: enter:write-left-to-right."],[7.8525,"card is hidden from the screen — left the board."]]},{"start":9.0525,"say":"Esistono diversi modi di rispondere. Scegliamo un'origine e due assi perpendicolari, e su ciascun asse un versore, cioè un vettore di lunghezza uno: i cappello lungo x, j cappello lungo y. Un punto P si raggiunge spostandosi di x lungo il primo asse e di y lungo il secondo. Qui x vale tre e y vale due. Il vettore posizione è quindi la combinazione dei versori: r è uguale a x per i cappello, più y per j cappello. Nello spazio teniamo i due versori del piano e aggiungiamo un terzo asse, z, perpendicolare ai primi due, con il suo versore k cappello. I tre versori sono ortogonali tra loro e formano una terna destrorsa: i vettore j è uguale a k. Per raggiungere P ci spostiamo di x, poi di y, poi di z, e la posizione diventa x per i più y per j più z per k. Questi versori hanno una proprietà preziosa: sono gli stessi in ogni punto dello spazio. Vedremo che negli altri sistemi non sarà così."},{"title":"Coordinate polari","startSeconds":101.40920833333332,"narration":"Nel piano un punto si può descrivere anche in un altro modo: con la sua distanza dall'origine e con una direzione. La distanza è r, che non è mai negativa. La direzione è data dall'angolo theta, misurato a partire dall'asse x in verso antiorario. Proiettiamo P sugli assi. Il cateto orizzontale vale r coseno di theta, quello verticale r seno di theta. Al contrario, il teorema di Pitagora restituisce r come radice di x quadro più y quadro, mentre il rapporto y su x è la tangente di theta. Attenzione però: per scegliere l'angolo giusto bisogna guardare il quadrante. Ora i versori. Il versore radiale punta lontano dall'origine, lungo r. Il versore trasverso è perpendicolare a lui, nel verso in cui theta cresce. Ecco la differenza decisiva rispetto alle cartesiane. Se il punto si sposta lungo la circonferenza, i due versori ruotano con lui: dipendono da theta. Derivando questi versori rispetto al tempo nascono i termini centripeti dei moti circolari. È il prezzo, e insieme il vantaggio, di una base che si muove con il punto."},{"title":"Coordinate cilindriche","startSeconds":174.58495833333333,"narration":"Passiamo allo spazio. Le coordinate cilindriche sono le polari del piano x y, a cui aggiungiamo semplicemente la quota z. Proiettiamo il punto P sul piano x y. La distanza della proiezione dall'asse z è rho, l'angolo con l'asse x è l'azimut phi, e la quota del punto è z. Dalla proiezione leggiamo subito le formule: x è rho per coseno di phi, y è rho per seno di phi, e z resta z. Le formule inverse sono quelle delle polari. Che cosa descrive rho costante? Teniamo rho fisso e facciamo ruotare phi: il punto gira attorno all'asse. Poi facciamo variare z: il punto scorre in verticale. Insieme, i due movimenti disegnano un cilindro. In ogni punto i versori sono il radiale e rho, che punta lontano dall'asse, il trasverso e phi, tangente alla circonferenza, e il versore k dell'asse z. Questo sistema è naturale quando c'è simmetria assiale: un filo carico, un solenoide, un fluido in un tubo. Per un filo infinito, il campo elettrico dipende soltanto da rho e punta sempre lungo e rho, lontano dal filo."},{"title":"Coordinate sferiche","startSeconds":248.07416666666666,"narration":"Infine le coordinate sferiche, pensate per problemi con un centro privilegiato. Il punto si individua con la distanza r dall'origine e con due angoli. Il primo è l'angolo polare theta, detto anche colatitudine, misurato dal semiasse z positivo. Il secondo è l'azimut phi, lo stesso angolo delle cilindriche, misurato nel piano x y a partire dall'asse x. Ora il passaggio chiave. La proiezione di r sul piano x y è lunga r seno di theta: è esattamente il rho delle cilindriche. E la quota è r coseno di theta. Basta allora sostituire nelle formule cilindriche. x diventa r seno theta coseno phi, e y diventa r seno theta seno phi. Gli intervalli completano la definizione: r non è mai negativo, theta va da zero a pi greco, phi copre un giro intero. Teniamo fisso r e facciamo variare theta: il punto scende lungo un meridiano. Variamo phi: si muove lungo un parallelo. Tutti i punti raggiungibili formano una sfera. Questo è il sistema naturale per la simmetria centrale: il campo di una carica puntiforme, la gravità di un pianeta. Il campo dipende solo da r e punta lungo il versore radiale, in ogni direzione. Riassumiamo. Le cartesiane hanno versori fissi e sono ideali per geometrie rettangolari. Le polari descrivono rotazioni nel piano, le cilindriche la simmetria assiale, le sferiche quella centrale. La regola pratica è semplice: si sceglie il sistema che rispecchia la simmetria del problema, e le formule di trasformazione permettono sempre di tornare alle cartesiane."}]}}
